Troop Trip to New York City

This year's bus trip will take us to New York City on March 21 & 22:

  • Depart on Supplee's bus at 6:45 AM, Saturday, March 21
  • Take bus and NJ Transit train to Penn Station in Manhattan
  • Walk through Times Square to Rockefeller Center
  • Tour the NBC Studios in two groups *
  • Walk to Central Park and eat brown bag lunch
  • Walk to the American Museum of Natural History and visit the museum
  • Take the subway, train and our bus to our hotel
  • Pizza dinner and Saturday evening swim at the hotel
  • Breakfast and Interfaith Service at the hotel on Sunday
  • Bus to Liberty Park in New Jersey, brown bag lunch
  • Boat ride and tour of Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty
  • Fast food stop on the way home
  • Return to the church Sunday evening, March 22

* If we're unable to book tours of NBC Studios, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will be substituted.

The total price for the trip is $225 and includes: one night in the hotel, transportation, admissions, Saturday's dinner, breakfast on Sunday, and fast food on the way home Sunday night. Everyone should bring two brown-bag lunches.

We'll be riding in the church bus, and we already have the bus drivers and 4 other adults signed up for the trip. Because of space limitations on both the bus and the NBC tours, participation is limited to 19 Scouts. A $100 deposit will reserve a first-come-first-served spot. Once 19 deposits are received, additional people will be placed on a wait list. If we haven't received deposits from 19 Scouts by December 17 (our holiday party,) we'll open the trip up to more adults. The final payment of $125 will is due on March 2.
