Philmont in 2025

Our high adventure trip for 2025 will be to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. We are sending a girl's crew as part of the Cradle of Liberty Council Contingent. The contingent will fly out of Philadelphia on June 21, 2025 and return on July 7. The cost is $3,600 per person, payable in installments according to the table below.

Our crew of 6 Scouts and 4 adult advisors, has already formed, but additional Scouts could place themselves on a waitlist.

The Scouts themselves will select their trek from among the available 12 day treks in the 2025 Itinerary Guidebook. The 12 day treks range from 50 to 120 miles in length with the shortest averaging less than 5 mile a day.

We'll hold a number of practice hikes prior to the event to allow the Scouts to get used to backpacking and shake down their equipment. Watch our web calendar and your e-mail for details.

Our participants are also expected to view a series of online Philmont Preparedness Serminars which they can either watch as they happen, or watch after the fact. The seminars are available through the Philmont Preparedness Seminars page.

The contingent will fly to Colorado and be bussed to New Mexico stopping for a whitewater rafting trip on the Colorado River. A few days in Colorado before arriving at Philmont will help acclimate them to the altitude before they begin their trek. Scouts will carry all their equipment, food and water on their backs. They'll stop at designated campsites each afternoon where they'll find an interesting activity. Depending on the trek the crew chooses, the daily activities could include:
