Some of Troop 541's most used documents

For Scouts Ready to join? Here's what to do:

1. Provide the following three documents along with your Troop 541 registration fee:
   • Scouts BSA Application Form. - You only need to complete the "Local Council" page. We'll copy it for our unit's records
   • Troop 541 Family Contact Form - We want to know the best way to contact you should the need arise.
   • BSA Medical Record Form - Parts A & B are needed before the girl can participate on weekend events. Part C will also be required for the girl to attend summer camp.
2. Send an e-mail to our Scoutmaster asking to receive e-mail announcements

For Adults Ready to join our Troop Committee or Become a Leader, Here's what you need:

1. Go to My Scouting, create an account for yourself, take the "Youth Protection Training" course, and print out a certificate of completion.
2. Complete a BSA Adult Application Form.
3. Complete your PA Background Checks and follow the instructions to upload them to the council site. Here's How

• Presentation Charts For A Parent's Orientation - These are the presentation charts for a session that the boys' troop held last year. We'll schedule another one soon.

Campfire Resources - For Patrol Leaders, Guides, and Campfire Planners

• Scouting Magazine Article on Campfire Planning READ THIS FIRST It's an overview of how to plan a sucessful campfire.
• Troop 541 Rules for Planning a Skit READ THIS NEXT These are our troop's guidelines on skit planning. It's up to the person planning the campfire to make sure none of the patrols have someting that will violate them.
• Lots of Skits From Boy Scout Trail There are links to about 250 skits on this page. Lots of them are great, but it's likely that some of them won't meet our guidelines. Think about the guidelines when selecting a skit.
• Lots of Campfire Material from the US Scouting Service Project There are links to a lot of resources here including skits, run-ons, songs, and stories. There's plenty of good material, but it's possible that some of it would not meet our guidelines.
• MacScouter's Big Book of Skits This is another huge resource, but it's possible that not everything here meets our guidelines.
• Document of Skits Songs and Stories from Scoutshare This document is primarily geared toward Cub Scouts, but a lot of the material would work for Scouts BSA too. It's possible that not everything in it meets our guidelines.

• 2025 Application For Leadership Position
  Cover letter and application form to be used when applying for a leadership position. Be sure to read the job description carefully and understand the qualifications you need to meet and commitment you're making before you apply.

• Eagle Rank Requirements
  The Current requirements for the Eagle rank
• Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook
  This is the latest version of the workbook that you must use for your project. You'll need it before you can start the planning process for your Eagle Scout Project.
• Pre-Filled Eagle Scout Workbook Contacts Page
  This is the contacts page of the workbook with some of the contact information for troop leaders and council representatives already filled in.
• Eagle Scout Reference Letters Policy - This document is the Cradle of Liberty Council Policy for obtaining Eagle Scout letters of reference. It includes a letter you should give to the people you request letters from, and a sampe of the stamped addressed envelope you should give to them. You'll need 5 or 6 such letters.
• Eagle Scout Applicant Statement Of Ambitions And Life Purpose Positions, Honors, And Leadership - This document is provided by Cradle of Liberty Council for you to provide your statement of life's purpose as required as part of Requirement 6 for the Eagle rank.
• Troop 541 Life to Eagle Guidelines, 2023 Version
  This document provides our troop's guidance on both planning an Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project and the rest of the steps required to apply for the Eagle rank. Your first step is to is to meet with the Scoutmaster who will go over this document with you in detail, your next step will be to obtain a workbook using the link above and get started, but don't start before you've met with the Scoutmaster.

  Once you've met all the requirements, you can obtain a personalized application with your badges and dates pre-populated under "Reports" on your own Scoutbook page, but you can look at this one to see what's asked for.

• Troop 541 Medication Permission Form
  This form is required if a Scout brings medications to a Troop 541 meeting or activity. With the exception of emergency items such as EPI pens or athsema inhalers, medications are to be held administered by a leader.
• Troop 541/542 Cell Phone/Electronic Device Usage Policy
  This policy outlines our Troop's rules for the use of electronics devices at Troop functions including meetings and camping trips.
• Troop 541/542 Service Hours Policy
  This policy describs the criteria a service project must meet to qualify as service hours for the ranks of Scout through Life. Eagle projects have their own requiremnts which are described in the project workbook (see the Eagle Scout section above).
• BSA Insignia Guide
  This PDF file shows the location of patches on a Scouts BSA Uniform.
• Menu Planning Form For Patrol Camping
