Announcements for December 17
- PARTY AND AWARD CEREMONY, WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 17 - We'll be holding our year end holiday party and award ceremony on Wednesday, December 17, in the Fellowship Hall of Supplee Church. It's the room where the boys usually meet. Each family is asked to bring a dessert, savory snack, or beverage to share. We'll present awards, play some games, and enjoy refreshments. Wear your class A uniform in-cluding merit badge sash if you have one. Families should come & friends are welcome.
- SIGN UP FOR THE MARCH TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY - This year's March bus trip will take us to New York City. Check the March Bus Trip page for all the details. Space is limited to the first 19 Scouts who reserve a spot by placing a $100 deposit. Please do that no later than our party on December 17 so we can firm up arrangements over the holidays. If we receive more than 19 deposits, we'll see if we can expand our reservations to take more people, but that's not certain.
- NO MEETINGS ON DECEMBER 22 & 29 - We'll be on winter break after our holiday party until January 5. Have a wonderful holiday and happy new year.
- STATE OF THE TROOP MEETING, JANUARY 3 - Our annual State of the Troop Meeting will be held on January 3 starting at 8:30 with breakfast snacks and ending by noon. We'll see how we did with membership, advancement, and financially in 2025, discuss issues we might be facing in the coming year, and discuss plans for the coming year. Registered adults and PLC members are invited to attend.
- TROOP COMMITTEE MEETS JANUARY 4 - The Troop Committee meets on Sunday, January 4, at 7:30 PM both in person at the church and via Zoom. The Scribe, Quartermaster, and Historian must give their reports to the SPL to be presented.
- PATROL LEADER'S COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 5 - There will be a meeting of the Patrol Leader's Council (PLC), which is comprised of the SPL, ASPL, PLs, Troop Guides, and Scribe, at the church on Monday, January 5, at 7:00 before the regular meeting.
- GOLD RUSH PAYMENT DUE JANUARY 5 - The District Gold Rush is a one day event that will take place on January 24, and we're hoping all three of our patrols will have enough Scouts sign up to field a team. Please get your $20 payment for the outing in no later than January 5 so we can properly plan for the event.
- SEA BASE IN 2027 - We have six adults and ten Scouts signed up, enough to support two eight person boats, for our Sea Base Adventure in 2027. We could go with 12 person boats, so we could take up to eight more Scouts. If you want to be part of the adventure, submit a $100 deposit now.
- NATIONAL JAMBOREE - We don't have a troop high adventure trip next year, but our council is sending a troop of girls from all over the region to the National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia next July. Seven of our Scouts have registered for it, and the girl troop is fully subscribed. If you want to go you should sign up and get on the wait list immediately. If enough Scouts do that, the council will organize a second troop. All the information is on our Jamboree Page.
- CHECK OUR PHOTO ALBUM - There are pictures from the Philmont, Summer Camp, and our Summer Mondays in our photo album. Check them out.
